Do Dividend Stock Have Seasonality Trading Signals?

Pictured here is the Amsterdam Stock market that was built in 1607, yes our stock market in New York can trace its roots back to the 1590's when some Dutch businessmen got the idea to create the biggest shipping company in the world. In order to do that they needed money and lots of it. To raise the cash needed they walked door to door offering to share the profits of their new venture with whom ever bought some share in the company. Hence the first dividend stock was born. This company went on to run 198 years and pay an average dividend of 18%. much nicer than what we have today but back to the question about seasonality. An interesting note not many people know about dividend stocks is... you don't have to own the stock all year in order to qualify for a dividend check. The seasonality comes in when certain stocks are effected by what is happening through out the year. In cold months, oil stocks ted to rise, new years brings in new years resolutions and some companies are effected by the large amount of people try to change their life. Spring bring in renewal and signs of up coming summer entertainment and the stocks that are directly related to that. Summer means kids are out of school and families take vacations, gas stocks move up as well as amusement parks and related stocks. Back to school in September means the products kids buy to prepare themselves for the new school year are effected. Forth quarter brings black Friday, the holiday season and more cold weather. All predictable events have an effect on one or two of the 6700 stocks trading. If you know when a stock is going to move due to its seasonality effect, then you can plan some trades around that situation and make some more profits, year after year. As you can plainly see the stock market has been around for over 412 years...
