AWR, American Water corporation is on the list of dividend companies paying out to their shareholders a portion of their profits this upcoming week. AWR is also on the Dividend Kings list. A small group of companies that have for the past 50 years continuously increased their payments every year... for five decades. AWR has a yield that is better than the current CD rates and has a product that everyone needs... water. If you are livening their metropolitan area, you have limited choices if any at all. Visa is also on the list of companies paying out this up coming week. Visa has a worldwide product and is a household name, two very strong attributes when offering a product to customers. PSMT Price Smart may not be a house hold name or a worldwide product yet. PSMT did come in with the highest number from our dividend calculator for the number one pick for this list for the dividend capture strategy.
Dividend stocks to look at this week has a few well known companies to pick from. AAPL comes to mind as well as WMT and MET. Three big house hold names. Here at the 10 minute trader we love the dividend capturing strategy (buy before the EX-date, sell after date of record) because it allows us to capture 10-20 checks per month like clock work. With the invention of the internet and some crafty computer software. We have forged a somewhat unfair advantage over other dividend investors. By looking at historical performances of these three companies as well as many others. We can see how the Ex-date effects the stock price in the days before the actual dividend payout. By knowing this information ahead of time we can have a good idea that the stock may perform in a similar fashion. That puts us in a good position to make some good dividend plays.
With AAPL moving up to the big board of the NYSE, the current stock split and of course the $100 per share mark looming upon us, let's not forget the upcoming dividend payout that's right around the corner. One could consider this trade, this week.... as a no brainer. Let's put it all into place for a bit. The move to the big "NYSE" board... big news. 7-1 stock split... Big news and Apple stock being below $100... big "BUY ME" signal. One last point to make my case. The stock price trend has been steadily on the uprise. The dividend payout from AAPL may not be a huge attraction, but we all know investors love grabbing some dividend checks. If you are looking to increase your cash flow with a safe trading strategy then don't over look the dividend capturing game. This strategy has after all been around for over 400 years and it is still used today. Be careful though when you look at dividend stocks, they are not all going to perform the same way under this dividend play and they are not all created equal.
Dividend Capturing at its best, WalMart is on the horizon for this strategy this week. AAPL, MET and a few other well known companies are going to be paying out dividends in the next week or two. Dividend Capturing is an easy strategy and making money safely is what we like to do here. Every week we send out a list of well known companies getting ready to share their profits with their investor. Part of being a shareholder is that you get to collect some of the companies profits every so often. So why not get an email every week to let you know who is getting ready to pay out some dividends... you too can get your 10-20 checks per month too.
The last week of July is upon us, if you want to collect some dividend checks before the month is over then you have a few good companies to look at this upcoming week. There are over 60 companies getting ready to payout dividends in the next 2 weeks, which few are the right stocks to look at? SKT, F, C, HCP, BHI, PHM to name a few and plenty more too. Who is going to be on the top of your list? Why are they going to be there? What is going to be your driving force to pick n choose one over the other?
As for me and my students, we like to look at past performance. How well did these companies do over the last few years when it came to dividends and paying out increased dividends every year. 25-50 years of continuous dividend increases is what is going to be the driving force for me when it comes to choosing a winner. There is a small handful of companies that have paid out increased dividend payments every year for 50. Yes 50 years, only 17 to be exact. The Dividend Kings is the name of this prestigious group. The Dividend Aristocrats is a small group of companies that have continuously increase payments for a minimum of 25 years. As for me... that is a good bet. I know for sure, if the stock price goes down... my dividend checks are going to increase., every year. But that is not my strategy, that is my constellation prize. I'm just after that small amount of increase that happens just before the Ex-date. That is another indication of which company to purchase. How often do they increase just before the ex-date, and how much. That my friends is what is keeping my investments in a good light, it's easy and almost foolproof.
Dividend stocks have been have been sharing profits with investors for over 400 years. It may be difficult for some to comprehend but it is true. The stock market as we know it today has been around since 1602, the first stock offered to investors was the VOC. The VOC was better known as The Dutch East India Shipping Company. The VOC ruled the seas for 198 years before succumbing to corruption and mismanagement. How the VOC did set precedence with paying out dividends to its investors and many companies followed suit.
Yes the first stock available to the public was dividend paying stocks and ever since then the investing public has loved receiving their fair share of profits. This week we are looking at 5 companies that have been increasing their dividend pay outs every year for over 25 years.
Companies like CL, CLX, VSEC, ACE, RY and a few more make this list for this week. Come check out our weekly list and see what stocks you should be looking at.
Just out of high school I decided to be self employed, after running a successful manufacturing business I had a problem of making more money than I knew what to do with. I started investing, after 23 years of investing I now want to share my strategy with a select few that want an extra edge in their own investing.
